Choose your data priorities

nbn's wholesale Traffic Class products

Business data plans are all about what works for your digital strategy. Not just maximum download and upload speeds, but how consistently those speeds are available, and whether they’re the same for downloads and uploads.

nbn supports this through wholesale Traffic Classes, which your service providers use – along with enhanced Service Level Agreements – to create the retail plans they make available to you.

nbn supplies the following wholesale Traffic Class products to providers.

Wholesale Traffic Class 1 (TC1) product

Lower bandwidth wholesale product with a committed information rate for consistent bandwidth at the wholesale level, and symmetrical wholesale download and upload speeds – designed mainly for voice (VoIP) services.*

Wholesale Traffic Class 2 (TC2) product

Higher bandwidth wholesale product with a committed information rate for consistent bandwidth at the wholesale level, and symmetrical wholesale download and upload speeds – designed for business applications and cloud services.*

Wholesale Traffic Class 4 (TC4) product

With TC4, wholesale data speeds are dependent on the volume of network traffic (or congestion). Designed for basic phone and internet services, maximum wholesale download speeds are higher than wholesale upload speeds.*

*Your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ broadband access network, depends on the technology over which services are delivered to your premises and some factors outside our control (like your equipment quality, software, signal quality, broadband plans and how your service provider designs its network). nbn is a provider of wholesale speeds to internet providers. nbn™ wholesale speed tiers available to your internet provider vary depending on the access technology in your area.
